The Steps for How to Make the Easy Paper Crafts: 8 Point Star:
Print the Easy Paper Crafts 8 Point Star Pattern.
Cut out the octagon and diamond shapes from the pattern.
The full star shows how the points should fit together.
Select the papers for the various shapes.
The octagon should be the same color as the most dominant color in the other shapes.
Its color will show where the edges don't match perfectly. (And, they don't. Either the cuts won't be perfect or the glue slips. Don't worry about it, just have fun.)
Use the pattern to identify and mark the center of the octagon.
I used the point of the pencil to push a point through the center.
Start with a medium point.
Glue its center point to the center marked on the octagon shape.
The ends of the diamond shapes can be confused, especially the medium shapes.
Place the pattern pieces on top of the paper shapes to remind you which end is the center.
Glue a small diamond adjacent to the first medium point with its center at the center of the octagon.
Next, glue a large diamond next to the small shape matching edges and centers.
Continue alternating the shapes until the 8 point star is complete.

Red and green construction paper makes the next 8 point star.
The large and medium diamond shapes are red, and the small shapes are green.
A green candle rests on the red and green star.
These stars would be pretty under different sizes of pillar candles as a table centerpiece.
Or, put them under several different sizes of candles on a mirrored tray.
Use gold or silver wrapping paper to make shiny stars.
Glue additional paper to the back of the star if the wrapping paper is not sturdy enough.
Chain several of the stars together to make a garland.
Add a star to a package as a gift tag.
Most of all, have fun!
