The Steps for How to Make the Easy Christmas Crafts: Paper Sphere Ornament:

Measure and cut the ribbon to 14 inches in length. Curling ribbon works great for this project.

Measure and cut the three strips of paper. If you are using 20-pound paper (regular paper for printing), glue two pieces together before cutting to have the proper stability. 24-pound paper has enough thickness while cardstock works well but borders on being almost too thick.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 1 cut paper strips

Layer the three strips one on top of each other. Curve, don't fold, the three strips such that the six ends are even. (Note: the clip holding the paper strips was necessary for the photograph not for the project.)

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 2 position ends evenly

Place a hole through all thicknesses 1/2 inch from the end and in the middle, crosswise, of the strips. Be careful not to break your hole punch if it's not rated for several thicknesses of paper.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 3 punch holes

The result is three equal strips of paper with holes in each end.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 4 three equal strips

Fold the ribbon in half and make a loop by tying a knot near the cut ends.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 5 tie knot in ribbon

Tie a second knot directly over the first. This makes the knot bigger such that it won't pull through the holes.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 6 add a second knot

Push the unknotted end of the ribbon loop through the hole in one end of one of the paper strips.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 7 push ribbon through one hole

Make a circle with the paper and push the ribbon through the hole in the second end of the paper strip.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 8 form circle with ribbon through second hole

Add a second strip in the same way.  Wrap the second strip around the circle made by the first strip.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 9 form second circle

Add the third paper strip by pushing the ribbon through the hole in one end, wrapping the paper around the first two circles then pushing the ribbon in the remaining hole. Your Easy Christmas Crafts Paper Sphere Ornament is almost finished.

Christmas ornaments paper sphere step 10 form third circle

Tie a knot in the ribbon near the paper. Add a second knot over the first to be bigger than the holes such that the paper won't slide off the ribbon.
