The Steps for How to Make the Easy Paper Crafts: Celtic Designs Celtic Heart Knot:
Print the pattern.
Trim around the outer and inner lines.
Use the cut out template to draw four different shapes on the back of the design paper.
This paper was one-sided with the front red and the back white making it easy to trace the pattern.
You could also use colorful printer paper and print the design four different times.
Cut out each of the four designs.
Hold your scissors steady in one hand.
With the other hand, feed the paper toward the scissors.
This allows a more evenly trimmed edge.
Position the four cut out shapes of the Easy Paper Crafts Celtic Designs Celtic Heart Knot opposite each other.
Pull two adjacent shapes close to each other.
Position the end of the long edge of one close to the end of the short edge of the other.
Be careful in taping the ends together.
You may need to adjust the ends slightly apart.
For one-sided paper I prefer to work from the top though you could just as easily work from the back (see below).
Use a very small piece of tape such that it will be hidden under the overlapping design.
For two sided paper such as this plaid, I prefer to tape on the back side.
Look closely at the seams. They are slightly apart.
As you put the four designs together, a ruler helps make sure the designs are directly opposite each other.
As you connect the four shapes, make sure the taped seams are hidden beneath the overlapping design.
After the four designs are taped to each other, use the ruler to center the Easy Paper Crafts Celtic Designs Celtic Heart Knot on the background paper.
Use glue to attach the design.
Or, you can roll small pieces of tape to hold the design to the background paper.
The Easy Paper Crafts Celtic Designs Celtic Heart Knot is finished and ready to frame.
This red Celtic Heart Knot is framed in a black 12 x 12-inch frame sized for scrapbook pages.
Using the same technique, this red, white and blue plaid design on a red background is framed in a white 12 x 12 inch frame.
The Celtic Designs Celtic Heart Knot is very similar to the eternity knot or the 8-18 knot in mathematical knot theory.
Though the design above requires taping to be never ending, the philosophy of the eternity knot or this Celtic Heart Knot is that there is no beginning and no end.
Made simply, the design is nevertheless interesting and adds a conversation piece to any decor.
