Easy Paper Crafts: Valentine Advent Calendar Materials and Tools:
Pale pink card stock - one sheet 8 1/2 x 11 inches
Medium pink card stock - one sheet 8 1/2 x 11 inches
Dark red card stock - one sheet 8 1/2 x 11 or dark red craft felt 9 x 12 inches
Dark red yarn (or narrow ribbon)

Glue
Poster board (optional, to add stability)

The Steps for How to Make the Easy Paper Crafts: Valentine Advent Calendar:
Print the Valentine Advent Calendar pattern.
Transfer the pattern to the card stock either by printing directly to the card stock or making a copy on the card stock.

Trim the top and bottom of the large heart for the background.
I chose to make a square of 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.

Cut around each small heart.
Remember to hold your scissors steady and to feed the paper into the scissors with your opposite hand.

Cut 14 pieces of 3-inch length yarn.
Cut the dark red heart shape slightly larger than the large heart pattern.
Add glue to the back of a numbered heart.
Position the yarn in the middle of the heart and across the glue.

Add the message heart over the yarn and glue forming a sandwich around the yarn.
Make all 14 of the heart shapes with a number on one side and a message on the other.
Organize the small hearts around the background in the order you prefer.

Add a 1-inch length of glue at each of the small black points inside the background heart.

Optional - Cut the the poster board slightly smaller than the background.
