The Steps for How to Make the Easy Christmas Crafts: Ribbon and Bell Tassel Ornament:
Cut a piece of stiff cardboard 3 1/2 inches long and wide enough to hold the yarn - at least 2 inches wide.
I used a scrap of corrugated cardboard and did not cut its width.
Cut the ribbon 30 inches long. I used organza ribbon for its softness and its sheen.
Cut one piece of yarn 12 inches long. Cut a second piece of yarn 24 inches long.
Position the 12-inch piece of yarn along the top edge of the cardboard.
Hold the end of the yarn from the spool even with the bottom edge of the cardboard. Begin wrapping the yarn around the cardboard and the 12-inch piece of yarn.
Continue wrapping the yarn for 100 revolutions.
Cut the yarn even with the bottom edge of the cardboard.
Pull the two ends of the 12-inch yarn even.
Tie a knot in the 12-inch yarn to secure the top of the yarn loops.
Tie a knot near the ends of the 12-inch yarn to form a hanging loop.
Trim the ends of the yarn, if necessary.
Insert the ribbon between the cardboard and the yarn loops.
Pull the ends of the ribbon until they are even.
Move the ribbon to the top of the cardboard under the hanging loop.
Tie a half knot in the ribbon.
Slide the yarn loops off of the cardboard.
Wrap the 24-inch yarn around all of the yarn loops just below the ribbon.
Tie a knot to secure.
Continue wrapping and tying knots in the 24-inch yarn to secure the yarn loops.
Stop when the ends of the yarn are just slightly longer than the yarn loops.
Thread the bells on the yarn ends.
Pull the yarn ends and tie a knot to secure the bells.
Insert the scissors in the bottom of the yarn loops and cut.
Pull the two yarn ends from the bells and cut them evenly across the bottom of the tassel.
Make the ribbon bow.
Fold each ribbon end in half and trim the ribbon at an angle.
